If you asked me about myself

If you asked me about myself a year ago,
You would have gotten a different answer than the one I’m giving here.
But God gives the toughest battles to his toughest soldiers,
So I guess I am stronger than I appear.
I am still young so I’m still not sure who I am.
Life is still like a big exam. See even though I’m stressing
And I sometimes feel like I’ve missed my blessing,
In the end I know that I got me,
and I got that love that only I can see.
I’ve been pushed down, beat down, and broke,
but I’m the end I know that I was chosen for a greater purpose.
Like the rose that grew from the concrete, you will not expect it,
but soon you will know about me.
It took falling to make me look in the mirror
and see what I could be.
I am strong, I am beautiful, and I am starting to accept me.
