BREATHE
Mya Perkins
My Love, He encompassed me last night,
He hugged me tightly in His placid arms,
He cuffed my heart in His hands—
Everything will be okay.
I listened to the sound of His voice—
My Love, You speak with so much grace.
I muttered, I stuttered,
His words fluttered
with wings.
I was safe.
I left the air this same day
I drifted back into His gates.
I belong in those places
they call dreams down here,
but I call it my destiny.
This home became within me.
See, I dress in these robes of dignity—
My garment, in the shade of love.
I’m clothed in the crown of victory.
I knew this from up above.
I tried the possibilities…
It tears me in half every time.
So I walked on the water
This became the good life
I didn’t know I could everlive.
Not my own,
but His.
